{"id":1898,"date":"2020-03-31T06:57:40","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T06:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/35.197.150.33\/?p=560"},"modified":"2020-03-31T06:57:40","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T06:57:40","slug":"handout-could-see-20m-apply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/plizz.co\/th\/blog\/handout-could-see-20m-apply\/","title":{"rendered":"Handout could see 20m apply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March 30, 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>More than 17.2 million people have applied for the 5,000-baht financial aid granted by the government<\/strong> to ease the impact of the Covid-19, according to Fiscal Policy Office director Lavaron Saengsanit.<\/p>\n<p>That was the figure which stood at 6pm yesterday as people registered on www.<span class=\"Bold\">\u0e40\u0e23\u0e32\u0e44\u0e21\u0e48\u0e17\u0e34\u0e49\u0e07\u0e01\u0e31\u0e19<\/span>.com, the only official channel, which began accepting applications at 6pm on Saturday, Mr Lavaron said.<\/p>\n<p>The Thai web address means: &#8220;You will never be left behind.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added that registrations had peaked at two million per hour at 10pm on Saturday, an unexpected volume considering the total number of informal workers affected by the Covid-19 is believed to be about 10 million.<\/p>\n<p>It is likely that many people who are not eligible for the aid took a chance and registered anyway, Mr Lavaron said.<\/p>\n<p>Including those ineligible registrations, <strong>his team may have to process up to 20 million applications<\/strong>, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The government has rolled out a series of stimulus packages to ease the impact of Covid-19 on workers.<\/p>\n<p>Among them is a 50-billion-baht government fund that provides 5,000 baht per month for three months to three million virus-affected temporary employees and self-employed workers.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, <strong>a broad range of financial and fiscal relief mea\u00adsures was issued to help companies<\/strong>, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, alleviate negative impacts from the Covid-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>the Bank of Thailand yesterday announced that banks will resume their services today after closing some branches at weekends<\/strong> to help prevent the spread of coronavirus ahead of the mass registrations for aid.<\/p>\n<p>Source : <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bangkokpost.com\/thailand\/general\/1888865\/handout-could-see-20m-apply?fbclid=IwAR0oVJcPjaunTVX_vEGI6L3xBfmi92aUYvhqLAOdH7he-_jjMbbTz1cBZfM\"><strong>Bangkok Post<\/strong><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 30, 2020 More than 17.2 million people have applied for the 5,000-baht financial aid granted by the government to ease the impact of the Covid-19, according to Fiscal Policy Office director Lavaron Saengsanit.
