{"id":1982,"date":"2023-04-05T16:28:35","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T09:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.plizz.co\/?p=1241"},"modified":"2023-04-05T16:28:35","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T09:28:35","slug":"thailand-reverses-tourist-visa-exemption-policy-for-60-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/plizz.co\/th\/blog\/thailand-reverses-tourist-visa-exemption-policy-for-60-countries\/","title":{"rendered":"Thailand Reverses Tourist Visa Exemption Policy for 60 Countries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>April 5, 2023 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/plizz.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"Thailand Reverses Tourist Visa Exemption Policy for 60 Countries - Thailand  Business News\" class=\"wp-image-1242\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thailand has reinstated its 30-day visa exemption policy for tourists from roughly 60 countries, effective April 1, 2023, marking a reversal of a previous regulation that allowed visitors from these countries to stay up to 45 days without obtaining a prior visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tourists from mainland Europe, the UK, the US, Australia, Saudi Arabia and other countries will now only be granted a 30-day stay in Thailand if they choose to enter the kingdom without obtaining a prior visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"30-day-visa-exemption-reinstated\">30-day visa exemption reinstated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), visa-exempt visitors will still have the option to extend their stay once for an additional 30 days if they go through immigration, allowing them to travel the nation for a maximum of 60 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visa-exempt countries will also have another option to obtain a 30-day extension by briefly leaving and re-entering the country. However, land border crossings can only happen twice per calendar year.
