Visa & Work Permit

Thai citizenship and naturalization

You have lived in Thailand for 8–15 years, may be raising children here, and plan to stay. Thai citizenship gives you what Permanent Residence (PR) does not: the vote, land in your own name, and a Thai passport for you and your children. We guide you from eligibility check to Royal Gazette publication.

How It Works

Our Process

A clear, structured approach from start to finish.

  1. Step 1:Eligibility and language assessment

Six to twelve months before you plan to file, we confirm your PR status, test your Thai against the conversation and anthem standard, and list any gaps in documents or language.

  2. Step 2:Language preparation and integration evidence

Thai lessons, mock interviews, and anthem coaching until you are ready for the examination, while we gather evidence of your integration: community participation, residence history, and employer references.

  3. Step 3:Documents and filing

We prepare the naturalization application with all supporting documents (police clearances from every country you have lived in, proof of occupation, character references, and a personal statement) and file it with the competent authority.

  4. Step 4:Investigation and examination

We follow the Special Branch investigation, answer Ministry of Interior information requests, and prepare you for the naturalization examination (language and civics).

  5. Step 5:Royal Gazette and Thai registration

After Cabinet approval, we coordinate the Royal Gazette publication, your Thai ID card, your passport application, and your registration at the district office (amphur).

Why you need more than a language tutor

The language test is only one part. Applications succeed or fail on the documents, the contact with the Special Branch, and years of follow-up during the investigation.

Who this is for

Who should apply for Thai citizenship?

Citizenship is the last step of a long journey: usually 3+ years of PR, then a long naturalization process. Thai law does not require you to give up your current nationality, but check your home country's rules before filing.

  • Permanent Residents with 5+ years of PR (standard track), stable work in Thailand, and conversational Thai, who want full citizen rights
  • Permanent Residents married to a Thai national, with 3+ years of PR, ready for the shorter track, especially those with Thai children or strong family ties in Thailand
  • Long-term residents who want to own land in their own name or pass Thai nationality to their children, rights that PR alone does not give
  • Foreign business owners with majority stakes, for whom Thai citizenship would remove foreign-ownership limits in listed or regulated-sector companies
  • Parents of Thai-born children who want the whole family to share Thai nationality and secure inheritance rights under Thai law

About our team

Thai language preparation, anthems included

Failing the language test is the most common reason a citizenship application is deferred. Our preparation covers conversational Thai, basic reading and writing, and both the national anthem and the Royal Anthem, from scratch or as a final polish for applicants who are nearly ready.

Years of agency follow-up, handled for you

After filing, your file passes through the Special Branch, the Ministry of Interior, and finally the Cabinet. We track every stage and answer each information request, so your application keeps moving.

A character file ready for the investigation

The Special Branch investigation includes neighborhood checks and employer interviews. We help you build a documented record (Thai and international references, community participation, stable work and address) that shows investigators you are genuinely integrated.

Home-country dual citizenship check

Before you file, we check what naturalizing in Thailand means for your home-country citizenship. If your country removes citizenship when you naturalize elsewhere and its passport is much stronger than a Thai one, the trade-off changes, and we raise that early.

Thai citizenship vs Permanent Residence: what changes

PR lets you live in Thailand indefinitely. Citizenship gives you the rights of a Thai national, including those that matter most to families and investors.
