Managing Cash Flow for Thai SMEs
Managing cash flow for Thai SMEs: why it matters, the most common cash flow challenges and practical strategies to keep your business liquid.
Once you make more than 10–15 payments a month, bank admin eats 4–8 hours of someone's week. Our treasury management service schedules your payments, prepares Bank of Thailand FX documents, and reports your cash position. You approve and release every payment.

The basics
Treasury management is how a company handles its outgoing payments, its daily cash position, and its banks. In plain terms: deciding which bills to pay, when, and from which account, and making sure every transfer meets the document and timing rules of the bank and the regulators.
It is often confused with two other services. Bookkeeping records what already happened (the journal entry after a payment goes out). AP/AR Management tracks what is owed, in the ledger. Treasury management prepares the payments and manages the cash position day to day: the working link between AP/AR and the bank.
Bank of Thailand (BOT) foreign exchange rules govern transfers of foreign currency abroad. Transfers above the reporting threshold need supporting documents: invoices, contracts, and beneficiary details. Mistakes lead to questions from the bank and can delay a payment by days or weeks.
Anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) rules under the Anti-Money Laundering Act B.E. 2542 (1999) require banks to check unusual payment patterns. An account that triggers alerts can be frozen while the bank investigates, which can stop your operations.
PND 1 and social security deadlines fall on fixed dates each month: withholding tax on salaries by the 7th (paper) or 15th (e-filing), and social security contributions by the 15th. Missing them triggers surcharges under the Revenue Code and the Social Security Act, and late salaries damage employee trust.
You keep full control of approvals. Plizz prepares, schedules, and follows up; you authorize and release. This segregation of duties is a basic internal control that protects against fraud and meets auditor expectations.

Plizz compared with the alternatives
The real cost of treasury done on the side shows up in penalties, frozen accounts, and founder hours, not in a service fee.
| Dimension | Founder / office manager | In-house finance manager | Plizz |
|---|---|---|---|
| BOT FX documents | Often incomplete; banks hold transfers | Handled if trained | Prepared before every transfer, per BOT rules |
| Segregation of duties | None: the founder prepares and approves | Partial: depends on team size | Full: Plizz prepares, you approve and release |
| Payroll deadline buffer | Depends on who remembers | Yes, if the role is dedicated | 2-business-day buffer built into the schedule |
| Escalating bank issues | Retail channel, often several days | Direct contact, usually faster | Escalated by a team that deals with Thai banks every day |
| Regular payment pattern (AML) | Irregular; ad hoc payments can trigger bank alerts | Consistent | Consistent; a fixed payment calendar reduces bank alerts |
| Monthly cost | Hidden in other people's time | A full-time salary, often THB 50,000–100,000/month | Quoted on your volume of payments |
Who this is for
Outsourced treasury is likely a good fit if one of these situations sounds familiar.
You make fewer than five outgoing payments a month from a single bank account.
You already employ a treasurer or finance manager whose main job is cash and payments.
Combine with Bookkeeping
Clients who take both Bookkeeping and Treasury get one integrated report. Get a quote for both services together.

Plizz never holds signatory rights on client accounts. We prepare, schedule, and follow up on every payment, and you release it. This segregation of duties satisfies auditors and reduces fraud risk.
Payment requests checked daily, payment schedules prepared weekly, and a treasury report for management every month: a full treasury routine without a full-time treasurer.
Every foreign currency transfer abroad is prepared with the documents BOT rules require (invoice, contract, beneficiary details) before it reaches your bank, so transfers are not held for missing paperwork.
Our team deals with Bangkok Bank, Kasikornbank, SCB, and other Thai banks every week, so we know who to call and what they need when a payment gets stuck.
